Apple just dropped their AI assistant beta. It's not groundbreaking tech, but that's not the point. Apple's doing what they do best – taking existing ideas and making them sleek, simple, and part of our everyday lives.

Remember when smartphones were clunky and confusing? Then the iPhone came along and suddenly everyone had one. I think we might see something similar with AI.

The beta's got some cool stuff:

• On-device AI that doesn't need the cloud (privacy win!)

• Writing help that might make Grammarly sweat

• A focus mode that understands what's important

But not everything is enabled. Siri's still... well, Siri. And if you're outside the US, you're out of luck for now unless this trick works for you.

Here's what's got me excited: Apple's massive user base.

Millions of people who've never touched AI might suddenly have it at their fingertips. AI could become ubiquitous and people more educated about it.

About the slow rollout, it's a classic strategy. They're not rushing; they're buying time to avoid the traps Google and Microsoft encountered at launch. And that focus on privacy? It's been well-received and is the most differentiated feature in a sea of apps and providers.

Apple's AI could change everything. As Alter's CEO, I see big potential for us. With AI built right into iPhones and MacBooks, we might go from tech enthusiasts using AI to everyone using it daily. It’s a required transition if we want to have more successful businesses in the AI market, outside infrastructure.
