MC.58: AI Avatars in your Zoom meetings, are you ready?
HeyGen's AI avatars join Zoom meetings for you. Cool tech, but what's the real impact? Let's look behind the demos.
Hey everyone,
HeyGen just launched Interactive Avatars that can attend Zoom meetings for you. Your AI clone can join multiple meetings at once, 24/7. It talks, thinks, and makes decisions like you.
No more boring status updates. Your digital twin handles repetitive meetings while you do important work.
Now imagine multiple clones in one meeting and you’re the sole human. What does it mean? The meeting is not important for them, but you? How does that make you feel?
Take it further - what if a meeting is just AI clones? Bob's clone chatting with Sarah's and Mike's. At that point, why have the meeting at all?
The tech is impressive, but raises questions. Are we saving time or just moving inefficiency to digital? And what about ethics?
And then you have security.
Today, it’s not natural enough to be deceived. Tomorrow, it will be.
What if your HeyGen account or similar is hacked or used to train deepfakes?
In South Korea it’s already getting bad with a deepfake crisis.
Kids are creating deepfake porn of their friends and sharing it over messaging platforms, causing real harm and destroying trust between girls and boys.
How can we ensure that we protect ourselves and the young while letting enough space for innovation to happen?
Business is one thing, but as a father of a 4-year-old girl, I believe we need strong safeguards and legal protections to limit harmful behaviors.
I’m curious to know your own opinions and will share the results next week, please answer the poll below!
Would you create an AI clone for yourself? |

PS: HeyGen has scheduled a live session on Youtube to talk about their tech on Thursday, October 17th, 09:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET - LINK
Meet your own personal AI Agent, for everything…Proxy
Imagine if you had a digital clone to do your tasks for you. Well, meet Proxy…
Last week, Convergence, the London based AI start-up revealed Proxy to the world, the first general AI Agent.
Users are asking things like “Book my trip to Paris and find a restaurant suitable for an interview” or “Order a grocery delivery for me with a custom weekly meal plan”.
You can train it how you choose, so all Proxy’s are different, and personalised to how you teach it. The more you teach it, the more it learns about your personal work flows and begins to automate them.
What do you think of this email? You can add more feedback after choosing an option, this helps a lot 👍 |
